Team Overview

Tampa Prep Swim Dive (TPSD) team is unique. It is one of the largest sports teams at the school, and one of the few on which boys and girls compete together. Practice is held daily during the fall and meets are held weekly. The experience includes a travel meet to Orlando in October.

The team includes athletes who compete at the national level, and those just interested in trying a new sport. All are made to feel welcome, and equally a part of the team. Their performance is judged by their own improvement, not just who places first or second.

The team has a storied history of producing some of Prep’s finest athletes, and some of the best swimmers and divers in Florida. Members of the team have moved on to compete at the NCAA and internationally at the Olympic Games, at schools including Notre Dame, Davidson, Georgia, Dartmouth, LSU and Tennessee, just to name a few. The team has distinguished itself with victories at the district, regional and state level.

Most important, though, is that TPSD is a quintessential “Tampa Prep” experience. Athletes of many ability and experience levels come together to form a successful team – a true embodiment of the Prep family. Parents, students and fans are part of a special community that celebrates the spirit of excellence and “going beyond” that is Tampa Prep!
