I am always amused when my students tell me that I must have become a Math teacher because I am “good in Math.” The truth is quite the opposite. The reality is that, as a child, I was not very “good in math.” But the patterns, logic and challenges that exist in mathematics have always fascinated me. I was mesmerized and inspired by my teachers who could unlock those mysteries and explain the topics in ways I could understand and appreciate. Their enthusiasm and expertise inspired me to become a teacher. By pure luck, my first job was at a middle school. I enjoyed the humor, enthusiasm and spontaneity of that age so much that I was hooked for life. Teaching mathematics in the Middle School has been one of the great joys of my life.

Since coming to Tampa Prep in 1998, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to not only teach Middle School students, but also provide leadership in my two favorite areas as the Associate Director of the Middle School and Chair of the Math Department.

I’m a Tampa native and enjoy all the delights my home state has to offer: cruising and fishing the gulf, reading about Florida, collecting the work of local artists and just spending time together with family.
