Tampa Prep Faculty
Mr. Andy Bricker
I have been coaching and teaching at Tampa Prep since 2008. I teach Health/P.E. and am the Head Coach for the Varsity wrestling team. In past seasons, I have coached 13 state qualifiers, 11 state place winners, five state finalists, two state champions, and a 2014 third place team finish at the Wrestling State Championship. Before coming to Tampa Prep, I had a successful three year coaching period at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, where I coached 13 All Americans and 1 National Champion. I served as an assistant for a short stint at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina and one year at Campbell University. I am a native of Live Oak, Florida and graduated from Campbell University in 2004 with a degree in Physical Education / Teacher Education.During my four-year career at Campbell, I compiled 86 wins to rank eighth on the school's all-time victories list. I was also a three time CAA All-Conference, finishing second in the conference in the 125-pound weight class as a freshman, and was twice named the team's MVP, in 2001 and 2003. At Suwannee High School, I completed my career with a record of 122-3 and was a two time State Champion. I was named Most Outstanding Wrestler in the 1999 High School National Open, and also proudly represented the state of Florida at the Cadet Freestyle Wrestling National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota, placing sixth, where I became one of only two All-Americans from Florida in 1997.
