Biography
I was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida at the age of seven. I graduated from Clearwater Central Catholic High School where we won two state championships in soccer. Ever since I was three years old, soccer and sports were my life. I played every sport with boys, including baseball, and chose soccer as my favorite when I was 13 years old and focused on that. I attended Louisiana State University on a full soccer scholarship, but illness forced me to move back home to St. Pete. After I recovered, I finished my college years at University of Tampa, also playing soccer, on a full scholarship there as well. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from UT. While I was pregnant with my son, Brady, I graduated in 2009 with my master’s degree in Teaching from UT as well.

During college, I was an assistant soccer coach for a high school program in St. Pete. After I graduated college, the school wanted to hire me as a Marine Biology teacher so I could stay their soccer coach because they felt that teaching kids and coaching kids was my “calling.” At the time, I disagreed and wanted to go into the working world. After being offered a job at Bloomingdale High School to teach Biology in 2007, I finally gave in and realized that teaching was not only my calling, but my passion.

After teaching in public schools for a few years, coaching soccer and being Department Head at my previous school, I joined Tampa Prep and could not feel more lucky to wake up each day and come to such a wonderful place. I absolutely love my job, the people I work with and of course, the kids. The kids inspire me to be better each day, and there is no place I would rather be.
