NEW AND OLD TRADITIONS: CLASS OF 2013
Singing the National Anthem and the Schoool's Alma Mater started the 37th Commencement on a different note, as 97 alumni traditionally dressed in red academic attire were awarded diplomas June 2 in the Walter Athletic Complex Gymnasium.
Speakers included Kirby Wilson, chosen by the Class, and Noreen Latif, Valedictorian. Alumna Susannah Wilson Smith represented the Alumni Association. Kevin Plummer, Head of School, welcomed the assembled, and bid farewell to the class and Peter Shepley, retiring Associate Head of School. The Class responded by jumping to their feet and wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESENTS ANNUAL AWARDS
Alumni Association Awards were presented at the 2013 Senior Celebration Dinner, May 30. Graduates Muhir Dubey received the Alumni Spirit Award and longtime faculty Adelaide Sayers, Kaki King and Peter Shepley received the Alumni Association Appreciation Award. Presenters included John Bump Fahey, Susannah Wilson Smith, Jennifer Menendez and Octavia Smith.

GRADUATES SHARE NEWLY ACQUIRED WISDOM
Alums from the Class of 2012 returned to campus to talk with juniors about what they learned in their first semester of college. Topics included adjusting to larger classes, leadership opportunities, roommates, transportation around campus, playing sports, part-time jobs, and academic advisors.

2013 CAREERS PROGRAM FOR SENIORS

Fourteen guest panelists - ten alumni and four members of the Prep community - spoke with seniors in three sessions and shared their education backgrounds, work experiences, career paths and answered questions. Students responded positively to the opportunity as panelists told their stories and offered advice.

ALL-ALUMNI PARTY FEATURES SNEAK PREVIEW OF THE NEW STUDENT CENTER
Alums turned out for the All-Alumni party and were treated to a look at the new Student Center. The Tampa Prep student strings ensemble entertained in the new theater lobby as alums enjoyed holiday desserts. Ribbon cutting for the center was held January 7.
CLASS OF 2002 REUNION BRUNCH
The Class of 2002 came together for a brunch on campus during the holidays. Celebrating their 10th reunion alums reconnected, listened to Mr. Plummer's vision for coming years and took a tour of the School. Great times were had by all!

The Peter Shepley Victory Tour hit the road in October, landing in Washington DC at the famed Dubliner on Capitol Hill across from Union Station. Alums turned out for a great time, taking home souvenir t-shirts and reconnecting with friends and making new ones.

2012 OPENING CONVOCATION
Head of School Kevin Plummer welcomed students, faculty and guests to the 2012-13 school year at the Opening Convocation in the Walter Athletic Complex Gymnasium. Kathryn Johnson Koehler '91 (left) was this year's alum speaker. She talked about her time at Prep and the academic inspiration she found in Dr. Kranc's Chemistry class that propelled her into college (Stanford University) and an unexpected career.
Peter Shepley addressed the assemblage with his usual wit and aplomb. Mr. Shepley retires at the end of this school year. The Peter Shepley Farewell Tour will visit cities around the country during the school year, so watch for dates and locations, coming to a city near you.
President of the Board of Trustees, Gail Bernucca, and President of the Student Body, Muhir Dubey also spoke.
