The Tampa Prep Board of Trustees Maureen Ayral: Maureen Ayral is Senior Vice-President - Investment of the Hyde Park Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. She earned her B.A. from Hofstra University and her M.B.A. from the University of South Florida. Maureen serves on the Advisory Board for the Community Foundation, is a Charter Member of the Wachovia Advisory Group and is an active fundraiser for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and Equality Florida. Maureen is active in the Tampa Prep community as well, having served as Treasurer and Class Rep for the Parents Alliance, a volunteer on the Auction Acquisitions and Patron Committees and sits on the Diversity Committee. Maureen has a son, Taylor '09, and a daughter, Sofia.
Gail Bernucca: Gail Bernucca, current 1st Vice President of the Board of Trustees, has been a realtor for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate since 1999. She received her undergraduate degree from John Hopkins University and her M.B.A. from the Boston University Graduate School of Management. Gail has been a member of the Tampa Prep Auction Committee since 2003, where she served as Auction Chair in 2006 and 2007. Gail is also an active community volunteer and, most notably, has served on the Board of Trustees at Congregation Schaarai Zedek and on the Board of Trustees at Independent Day School. Gail and her husband Lou are the parents of Matt (’06).
Bruce Burdge: Bruce Burdge was recently elevated to 2nd Vice President of the Tampa Prep Board of Trustees. He is a founding Principal of Arcis Investments, a private capital real estate investment company. He and his wife Katherine moved to Tampa in 1992 on an 18-month assignment from Citicorp in Manhattan and decided to make the Tampa Bay area home. Bruce earned his undergraduate degree in Business & Economics from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and his MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School in New York City. Bruce and Katherine are active volunteers in the community, have served on the Alumni Boards at their respective colleges, are involved with Boy Scouts, and have two children at Tampa Prep, a daughter Taylor ('12) and a son Spencer ('16).
 Charles (Chuck) Carver: Chuck Carver is a commercial real estate attorney and a shareholder with the Tampa law firm of McNamara & Carver, P.A. Chuck has served on the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association among other professional associations. After earning his B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, Chuck attained his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law. Chuck and his wife Lisa are actively involved in many family-centered volunteer activities in the community including Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and youth sports activities. Chuck and Lisa have two children at Tampa Prep, Alec ('13) and Audrey ('16).
Terry Curry: Terry Curry has been an education professional since her graduation from the University of South Florida. First as a teacher of emotionally handicapped students, later as a principal and then Owner/Head of Brandon Academy and more recently as a member of the Florida Council of Independent School Board of Directors. Terry and her husband Clif are the parents of three children: MaryBeth, Trey (1988-2008) and Colton ('10). The Curry family enjoy their boat, love to travel and play golf together.
Ken Fullerton: Ken Fullerton is a native of the Tampa Bay area and is a graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Harvard College and Harvard Business School. After receiving his MBA Ken pursued a career in public finance forming a financial advisory firm, Fullerton and Friar, Inc. with Robert Friar in 1990 serving the financial needs of state and local governments and major airport operators. After an April 2010 acquisition, the partners are now Managing Directors of Public Financial Management, Inc. Ken and his wife Linda have two sons. Ryan (a graduate of UCF) and Andy ('13).
Gail Golman Holtzman: Gail Golman Holtzman is an attorney with Kass, Shuler, Solomon, Spector, Foyle and Singer, P.A. Ms. Holtzman graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in English. She received her law degree from The National Law Center, George Washington University, Washington, D.C. In Tampa, Ms. Holtzman participates in civic activities that include the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center “Broadway Ball” Steering Committee, Board of Trustees of the Foundation of St. Joseph’s Hospitals and the Youth Committee of Congregation Schaarai Zedek. Gail and her husband Steve have two children, Whitney and Joshua (‘09).
Marcia Israeloff: As President of the Tampa Prep Parents Alliance, Marcia is an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Trustees. With a Bachelor of Arts in Earth Science from Wesleyan University, Marcia headed to the University of Michigan Law School to earn her JD before practicing commercial real estate law in New York and Connecticut. Marcia has volunteered countless hours to our school, many of them in her role as Coordinator of Communication for the Parents Alliance and as a catalog writer and proofreader for the annual Auctions. In 2007 Marcia served on the Head Search Committee that brought Kevin Plummer to Tampa Prep. Marcia and her husband Dr. Paul Jacobsen have two daughters, Elizabeth ('08) and Rebecca ('12). Bill Krusen: Bill Krusen was named Trustee Emeritus in 1989, following his six years as President of the Board. He is President of General Group Holdings. Bill is married to Dottie and is the grandfather of Tampa Prep graduate Isabelle Krusen ('97) and the father of Andy Krusen, former Trustee.
Jonathan Levy: Jonathan is a partner in Redstone Investments, a commercial real estate development firm. Redstone specializes in shopping center development, management and commercial real estate brokerage. He is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in finance. Jonathan serves on the Board of Directors of Huntington Bancshares, Inc. Previously, Mr. Levy served as the Lead Director of Sky Financial Group, Inc. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Jonathan and his wife Karen have a daughter, Dori ('09) and a son, Zack. Steve Mez er: Steve Mezer is Secretary of the Board of Trustees. He is a Real Estate lawyer with Bush Ross specializin g in Condominium and Homeowners Association Law. He earned his B.A. from the University of Miami and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Steve is Co-Vice Chair and Secretary of the Condominium and Planned Development Law Committee and Community Associations Subcommittee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College where he taught condominium association law. Steve serves on the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Steve and his wife Karen have a daughter Amanda (’09).
Jeff Mitchell: Jeff has served on the Tampa Prep Finance Committee and was an active volunteer with the '09 Auction. He earned his B.S. from Ohio State University in Business Administration with a major in accounting and later earned his M.B.A.from the University of Tampa. Jeff retired after a 21 year executive career with Valpak Direct Marketing. He and his wife of 34 years, Judy, are the parents of Taylor, Tampa Prep Class of 2012.
Scott A. Morris, '80: Scott Morris is the former President of the Tampa Prep Alumni Association Board and served as an Ex-Officio member of the Board in that role. He continues to play an active role in events such as the Alumni Golf Outing and the Gasparilla Children's Parade. After graduating from Tampa Prep in 1980, Scott attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and later earned his AA from Altamaha Technical Institute. He is the owner of Fibre Tech, Inc. Scott has a son, Seth ('11).
Patricc Petti '81: Patricc is currently the President of our Alumni Association Board, making him an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Trustees. After earning a degree in Marketing and Business from Metropolitan State College of Denver, Patricc returned to Tampa and opened the Cafe Toulouse Restaurant. Later he worked in sales and sales management for GTE in their telecom and wireless divisions. His hobby of renovating homes ignited a passion for real estate which he has pursued as a multi-million dollar producer at Smith and Associates. Patricc's interests include running, sailing, classical music and travel. He and his partner Brian are active volunteers in charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area and live at Grand Central in Channelside.
John Rains, III: John Rains is the immediate Past-President of the Board of Trustees. He and his wife Karan are the parents of John ('98), Elizabeth, and William ('09). John served as a volunteer coach for the Tampa Prep Debate Team for 10 years. Under his guidance debaters participated in national tournaments around the country and attended summer institutes at various colleges and universities. John is engaged in the private practice of law and is an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law.
Christie Roberts: Christie Roberts is a Second Vice President at Smith Barney where she has been a Financial Consultant since 1999. Born in Tampa, Christie graduated from King High School in Tampa and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida. In addition to Tampa Prep, she has been involved in volunteer activities through the Temple Terrace Junior Women’s Club, Tampa Friends of LifePath Hospice, St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club and the University Club of Tampa. Christie and her husband Jim are the parents of Curtis (’06) and Jennifer (’10).
Eve Sawicki: Eve Sawicki is an independent marketing and sales consultant with twenty years of marketing experience in management for IBM. Mrs. Sawicki has been an active Tampa Prep Auction volunteer and is currently on the Parent Board at Culver Academies. With a degree from Duke University in Economics, she is the Chair for the Duke Alumni Admissions program in Pinellas County. Mrs. Sawicki lives in St. Petersburg with her husband Felix and two children, Jennifer and Matthew.
Todd Schlemmer: Todd Schlemmer is the owner of UCI Construction Services and Tech Tower Properties where he and his wife Alta work together. Todd earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and has a Florida Certified Electrical Contractors license. He has extensive experience in electrical utility and cellular communication industries. Both Todd and Alta actively support the youth missions groups at Bay Life Church where they attend, and quickly immersed themselves in volunteer efforts with the Tampa Prep community serving on the Annual Fund and Auction committees. Alta is currently the Middle School Softball Coach. Their family includes children Wesley ('15) and Avery ('16).
Beth Sigety: Beth Sigety is Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. She and her husband Birge work together at their firm, Bison Investments, Inc. - formed in 1996 as a private investment fund oriented toward opportunistic investments in manufacturing, distribution and real estate. Beth holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and attended New York University's graduate school and Emory University's Executive M.B.A. program. Mrs. Sigety is an active school and community volunteer and in her free time, she enjoys her family, reading, rowing, sailing and new adventures. The Sigetys have three children, Austin ('04), Colyer ('08), and Alex ('11).
Cathy Smith: Cathy Smith was named Trustee Emeritus in 2004 after serving as President of the Board, 2001-2003. She and her husband Bob are the parents of three Tampa Prep graduates, Kristin ('95), Justin ('98), and Megan ('03). The Smiths own Psychological Assessment Resources Inc., a company that publishes psychological, educational, and career interest tests. Cathy is also on the Board of Directors for Meals On Wheels of Tampa and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in Nursing.
Lou Suglia: Lou is a New York City native and attended St. John's University. He left school to work for IBM until entering the U.S. Army as a combat medic in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge he concluded his undergraduate studies at Pace University and returned to IBM Connecticut. Lou later became a top IBM national reseller (Advantage International Systems) and created a Financial Leasing Company working with banks and investment companies in raising capital for the company and its customers. Lou has served Tampa Prep as a member of the Development Committee and brings Board experience from his tenure at St. Paul's. Lou and his wife of twenty years, Cathy, are the parents of Chris ('11) and Gregg ('13).
Victoria Sunderland: Victoria was born in England and has lived in the United States for eleven years. She earned her B.A. in Modern and Medieval Languages from Sidney Sussex College of the University of Cambridge in England. Victoria and her husband Richard are the parents of George ('07), Lydia ('10) and Nina ('12). Victoria previously served two years as an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Trustees while President of the Tampa Prep Parents Alliance. Her contributions as a volunteer for the auction and chair of the TPPA communications are an incredible asset to our school.
Glenn Vaughn, M.D.: Glenn Vaughn is President of the Tampa Prep Board of Trustees. He owns Pediatric Anesthesia, P.A. and serves as the managing partner and medical director of Pediatric Surgery Centers, LLC, an ambulatory surgery center in Tampa. Glenn’s education includes a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s National Medical Center Washington DC, anesthesiology residency at University of South Florida College of Medicine and an Internal Medicine internship at the University Of Miami School of Medicine. He received his graduate degree in medicine from the University of Miami and a B.S. from the University of Florida. Dr. Vaughn served as Chief-of-Staff at All Children’s Hospital from 2001-2003 and served on the All Children’s Hospital Board during that time. He and his wife, Mimi Farmer, MD, are the parents of Miles (‘07) and Wade (‘09).
Robert Walter: Bob Walter served as President of the Board from 1996-99 and was named Trustee Emeritus in 1999. Bob is the president of Walter Property Investments, which is in the business of developing, buying, operating and selling real estate. He is married to Zan Walter and is the father of Alex ('97). Bob graduated from Yale University and the University of Florida Law School.
Bonnie Wise: Bonnie has served the Tampa Prep community as a member of the Finance Committee since July of 2007. She is currently the Director of Revenue and Finance for the City of Tampa. Prior to her tenure with the City, Bonnie served as Senior Vice President of William R. Hough and Co., Public Finance Department and Vice President of Raymond James and Associates, Inc., Public Finance. Ms. Wise serves on the Board for Congregation Rodeph Sholom and recently completed a term as president of the Centre for Women Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the University of Florida. Bonnie and her husband James have two children, Aaron and Hannah.
