Ways to Give

While the Annual Fund is our primary fundraising initiative, there are additional ways to donate to the school. Additional methods of support include Matching Gifts, Endowment contributions, Gifts of Securities and Planned Giving. Contact Jay Goulart at (813) 251-8481 for more information about these programs, highlighted below.

MATCHING GIFTS

Many companies offer a matching gift program to their employees as an added benefit. If your company has a matching gift benefit, it could double or even triple your gift to Tampa Prep. Contact your company's human resources officer to determine whether or not they participate in a matching gift program.

ENDOWMENT

The School’s Endowment is comprised of restricted and unrestricted assets, representing retained earnings, tax-deductible gifts and board restricted funds. Tampa Prep’s endowment funds serve various purposes: to provide financial assistance to qualifying students, support faculty salaries and professional development and sustain curriculum and facilities. While individuals and organizations establish named endowments through sizable initial gifts, the funds may also grow through smaller, ongoing gifts from other supporters of the School. Learn about our various Endowment Funds and use the contact information above if you would like to make a contribution to an existing fund or establish a new one.

CAPITAL GIFTS

To ensure that facilities are commensurate with the high level of programs offered, the School must continue to make capital investments in facilities and equipment. Our largest campaign to date, Building a Legacy, made it possible for Tampa Prep to build the existing campus on Cass Street.

In recent years, the School has completed two successful mini campaigns to raise funds for building improvements, beginning in 2012 with The Center Project. This campaign transformed the courtyard and Smith Black Box Theater lobby into a 4,000 sq. ft, technologically advanced dining and gathering space known as the Student Center. The space is the main dining area with an improved food distribution facility and a shaded outdoor area. The second part of this initiative transformed the previous lunchroom area on the third floor into a wing housing College Counseling, STEM and Robotics labs and a Technology Support room.

Updates continued in 2013 with Impact Now, a campaign to transform all Middle School classrooms at Prep into Active Learning Environments (ALEs). These customizable spaces feature 3LCD touch-enabled interactive projectors, green screens, custom sound systems, amplification systems and ergonomic, flexible furniture. The physical changes, in combination with programmatic and curricular changes inspired by the School’s Strategic Plan, work to enhance student engagement and student acquisition of vital 21st learning skills such as problem solving and collaboration. Current capital endeavors are focused on continuing to enhance our facilities to meet future needs.
