I joined the Tampa Prep family in 2015–immediately after moving to Tampa from Virginia as my husband had gotten a job teaching at Berkeley! Despite being part of a household divided (at least around Headmasters’ Challenge time!), I feel incredibly lucky to come to work every day at Tampa Prep. My background and graduate work is in creative writing, so I enjoy trying to bring different kinds of writing into the classroom.

My goal every day is to help my students become better communicators and to encourage them to ask questions about the world around them and find their own voices and passions. I became a teacher because, once I had the chance to teach in graduate school, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Every day is different! And I love being surrounded by such curious and talented students and colleagues as those I’ve found at Tampa Prep. In my off hours, I love going to the beach with my family: husband Robert and our two small boys.
