2010 Auction: Journey

The JOURNEY Complete
After months of work and anticipation, more than 360 people joined to celebrate the community of Tampa Prep at the 2010 Gala Auction Dinner, JOURNEY, at A La Carte Pavilion. The over 450 items went up for bid on brightly decorated silent auction tables and virtually all were successfully sold to the highest bidder. The room was decorated in basic black with hot pink accents on the chairs and tables. Multi-colored paper lanterns hung from the ceiling as candlelight twinkled from the 38 banquet tables decorated with fun and colorful floral arrangements. Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner topped off by frozen cheesecake "lollipops," then raised hot pink glow sticks as students finished their final performance of the evening, "Don't Stop Believin'," by Journey.
Auctioneer Matt Holiday then auctioned off 25 items as the crowd enjoyed fast-paced, exciting bidding. More than 70 volunteers worked for the better part of three months to organize and plan the auction, the 25th event of its kind for Tampa Prep. More than 15 years of auction leadership was represented as former chairs, Elaine Navas, Gail Bernucca and Dimity Carlson attended.
