Middle and Upper School Academic Support Counselor

We are currently seeking a Middle and Upper School Academic Support Counselor who will work with faculty, select administrators and families to support student learning. This ten-month position begins in August of 2016.
Desired qualifications include:

  • Experience in a comparable role
  • An advanced degree in reading, cognitive science, special education or a related field
  • Experience as a classroom teacher
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to interpret cognitive reports

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Working with students to foster academic success
  • Working with faculty to support individualized student learning
  • Advising families on strategies that facilitate learning
  • Working with the School Counselor and College Counselors to support students
  • Working with select administrators to coordinate student needs
  • Communicating with other student support services on and off campus
  • Overseeing standardized testing and nonstandard test administration

Upper School History Teacher

We are currently seeking a full-time Upper School history instructor for the 2016-2017 academic year who is able to teach world history and American history. Candidates should be proficient in their discipline, interested in the social and developmental needs of high school students, facile with an iPad, and able to contribute to extracurricular activities. Applicants should possess a bachelor's and/or advanced degree in history, social studies, or social studies education.

Assistant Rowing Coach

The Tampa Prep Rowing team is seeking two assistant coaches for land and water practices during the 2015-16 school year. The ideal candidates will be available for 2-3 weekday practices, as well as Saturday practice. Weekday practices take place from 4:15 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Saturday practice times vary.

Tampa Preparatory School’s rowing program has a history of success and a long list of state championships. We have great equipment, talented athletes and a supportive school administration. Practices begin mid-August and run through the end of May with breaks in between each season (fall, winter, spring).

Qualifications: Rowing knowledge and experience are a must. Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and first aid certification.
