Applying to Tampa Preparatory School
1. Schedule an appointment. An interview with an Admissions officer is the first step in becoming familiar with Tampa Preparatory School. Interested families are welcome to schedule individual campus interviews weekdays between 8:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Allow for at least a half hour for your visit. Contact the Admissions Office to make an appointment.
2. Submit your online application with a $75.00 application fee by February 15. Subsequent applications for limited openings will be evaluated on a rolling admissions basis.
In addition, ask the school your child is attending to forward the following:

• Teacher Recommendation Form - Download (PDF Document)
Please note. Families are encouraged to come for an interview and submit an online application before setting up a shadowing day.
3. Come shadow at Tampa Preparatory School. During your visit you will shadow a host student throughout the campus attending classes, mingling with students, meeting faculty and enjoying lunch. At some point in the day an interview with a member of the Admissions Office will be conducted. Shadowing days can be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from October through April. Applicants should contact the Admissions Office to make an appointment to visit.
4. Take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) in October, November, December or January. Be sure to request that your scores be reported to Tampa Preparatory School. Applicants for the junior and senior year may submit PSAT or SAT scores. Families can register on-line at www.ssat.org. The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) may be substituted for the SSAT for those students where the ISEE is more commonly used. Families may register on-line at www.iseetest.org.
5. Keep in touch with Tampa Preparatory School. Completed applications are reviewed by the Admissions Officers on a rolling Admissions basis for all grades except grade 9. Notification letters for grade 9 applicants are mailed on March 1st and accepted students are expected to reply by March 15th.
