Carrie White has been a Tampa resident since 1990. She was a competitive tennis player who was ranked nationally in the USTA and played at both the high school and college level as part of ELON University in North Carolina. Carrie went on to graduate from the University of South Florida with her degree in Organizational Communications. She began her professional career in banking and finance but soon followed her passion for children and became an elementary school teacher for Hillsborough County Public Schools. Since joining the Tampa Prep Board of Trustees in 2015, Carrie has served on multiple committees including Chair of the Governance Committee for the previous two years. In 2017 Carrie was selected as one of 60 Trustees Worldwide to participate in Governing for Non-Profit Excellence at Harvard Business School Executive Education. In addition, she has traveled to multiple leadership conferences nationwide and joined the Trustee Leadership Network as part of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay in 2018. Carrie and her husband Scott have been married for 20 years and have three children: Sammy (’18) who now attends Wake Forest University, Brady (’21) and Elizabeth (’25). Presently, Carrie is earning her master’s degree at The George Washington University and will be graduating in the fall of 2019 with her M.A. Ed & HD in the field of Organizational Leadership & Learning.
