3/5 11th Grade Spring Social

All 11th grade parents are invited to the 11th grade parent social on Tuesday, March 5th, at 6:30 pm. Gina and Eric Bailey are welcoming us into their lovely home. Beverages and appetizers will be provided by your TPPA hosts. Please feel free to bring an extra bottle of wine to share if you have any you can spare. We appreciate an RSVP by March 3rd. 3/6 TPPA Monthly Board Meeting

All Tampa Prep parents are invited to join on Wednesday, March 6th at 9:00 a.m. for the Tampa Prep Parents Alliance monthly board meeting, at Coppertail Brewing Company near Ybor City.  You’ll hear about the exciting events that the TPPA has on tap for the school year and learn about volunteer opportunities!  All Tampa Prep parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions about attending the meeting, please  contact Allison Mook at tppapresident@tampaprep.org.

3/26 8th Grade Parent Coffee

All Tampa Prep 8th grade parents are invited to join us for our spring 8th grade parent coffee on Tuesday, March 26th, at 9:00 a.m. at Coppertail Brewing Co. Your 8th Grade TPPA representatives will be there with upper school counselors to discuss course selection for high school. We request an RSVP by March 22nd. 3/26 Parent Education Committee (PEC) Presents: Parenting in the Era of Social Media (Part 2-Technology)

Middle and upper school parents are invited to join us for a night with Dr. Nathan Fisk, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity Education in the USF College of Education, will facilitate an interactive discussion about the technology surrounding social media and keeping our youth safe. This second part in our series will contrast the first part. Dr. Fisk will answer the question of “What does it mean to raise children in an increasingly algorithmic world?” – addressing issues of dark patterns, surveillance culture, and the use of social media data for AI.  This event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.
Prior to the event Dr. Fisk will work with a few Tampa Prep student volunteers and Suzy Lassacher, STEM Instructor and Student Technology Support Coordinator for Tampa Prep. Along with Dr. Fisk they will report back their experience. This will be a collective and open discussion with parents AND students from both middle school and upper school. There will be lots of time for audience questions.

4/3 Senior Mom’s Luncheon

The Tampa Preparatory Parents Alliance is hosting a celebratory luncheon to honor the Class of 2024’s mothers with special guest Kevin Plummer! The complimentary luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m. at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club.  Valet parking is available at the round-about entrance to the club,  dress is smart-casual. Terrapin Dads Happy Hour Events

All Tampa Prep dads are invited to attend Terrapin Dads Happy Hour events throughout the school year beginning in September in the evenings for a casual gathering that sometimes includes a member of the Tampa Prep administration team. In addition to attending other TPPA events, Terrapin Dads also support events including the End of Year BBQ.  Check the Events Calendar for Updates!

Book Club Gatherings

All Tampa Prep parents are invited to attend Book Club meetings throughout the school year. Book Club meets every month from 9:15am – 10:30am beginning in October in the Large Conference Room (unless otherwise posted).
