Endowment Funds

The School’s Endowment is comprised of restricted and unrestricted assets, representing retained earnings, tax-deductible gifts and board restricted funds. Tampa Prep’s endowment funds serve various purposes: to provide financial assistance to qualifying students, support faculty salaries and professional development and sustain curriculum and facilities. While individuals and organizations establish named endowments through sizable initial gifts, the funds may also grow through smaller, ongoing gifts from other supporters of the School. The Sigety Family Academic Chair

An endowment fund established using funds donated by the Sigety Family Foundation to create one or more Faculty Chairs. Faculty award recipients receive a stipend additional to their salary, to be used at their discretion, in pursuit of professional development and educational opportunities, or to benefit the School in general.

Susanna F. Grady Curriculum Research Development Fund

This fund, created in honor of former Head of School Susanna F. Grady, supports faculty initiatives to develop innovative curricular projects during the summer months. Faculty apply for funds and grants are awarded annually by vote of the Curriculum Committee.

Endowment for Excellence

This endowment supports faculty professional development opportunities.

The Glenn C. Vaughn Fund for Language Study and Cultural Exchange

This fund supports grants, awards or stipends for materials, programs or projects that stimulate enthusiasm for world languages and cultural exchange.

Tampa Prep Alumni Financial Assistance Fund

Established by the Tampa Prep Alumni Association Board in 2005, this fund supports need-based financial aid.

Whiting Family Scholarship Fund

These funds support need-based financial aid for Academy Prep graduates who attend Tampa Prep.

D. Gordon MacLeod Endowment Fund

In keeping with the School’s Mission and commitment to creating a socio-economically diverse student population, and to honor former Head of School Gordon MacLeod, this fund is to provide additional tuition assistance to middle income families who qualify for need-based grants as determined by the School’s Financial Aid decision process.

William J. Angell II Scholarship

Tuition assistance is provided for an African-American continuing student in his or her junior year.

Francis J. (Jack) Thompson Scholarship

Provides financial assistance to an outstanding English student in his or her sophomore or junior year.

L. Laird Davis Scholarship

Financial aid is provided to an outstanding student leader in his or her sophomore or junior year.

Stephen P. Adams '82 Award

This financial award is presented annually in honor of Stephen P. Adams, Class of '82, to a student who exemplifies his qualities of caring, school spirit, and involvement in school activities.
